I'm headed to Phoenix!!

It’s been a while but I wanted to share my thoughts one last time before I leave. I am serving an 18 month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in Phoenix Arizona. I report to the Provo MTC September 11th! A mission is where members of our church go all over the world sharing what we believe about Christ and inviting people to come to Him and be baptized. I was not planning on going for the longest time but that all changed when I started paying closer attention to my thoughts and impressions. One day I was pondering on the why of my hearing loss- Why was I given this? Who am I supposed to help with this experience? What is God’s purpose in this? This is not all for naught, right? Why was I so blessed to be able to learn to speak? And many other deep questions- I had an impression that I had never had before. “You have a voice to share the gospel.” That was it. But those few words burned in my soul and ignited a yearning desire to use my gift and my miracle for the benefit of others. Heavenly Father did not bless me with a voice to be silent. He blessed me with a voice to testify to all those around me of the reality of Christ’s love and the wonderful message of His gospel.

I owe a huge thank you to all the many friends and family that have helped me become the person that I have become. I am excited to improve who I am and to focus my life more on Christ as I serve the people in Phoenix!! If you would like to read my weekly emails, my mom will be sending them out! Message me with your email! I would love to hear from you! Write to me at corinne.coleman@myldsmail.net! My mission snail mail addresses will be updated as I find out what they are!! Have a happy day!!

I just have to make a shout out to all the wonderful friends and family that came to my farewell last week! I felt so loved to see all your smiling faces and to receive all your warm hugs!! You are absolutely amazing and I’m so blessed to have you!!

Because this is a blog about my hearing loss- I just have to mention one thing about my farewell. I had a handful of my dear friends sitting on the front row at my farewell talk. Throughout the meeting they would mouth things to me and I understood every single thing they said. I was loving my lipreading skills!! The only sad part was that I couldn’t mouth anything back beacuse well I was on the stand in front of the whole ward but also too you hearing people can’t lip read! I would love to share my fun with you!! Join the party and learn how to lip read!! :) Love you all! :)
